Description
1964 MERCEDES-BENZ 300 SE COUPÉ
French title
Engine n° 189987-12-00206
- Purchased new by Monsieur Thanry
- Continuous history
- Desirable color combination
It was during a trip to Canada in 1964 that Mr. Thanry discovered, by renting an American car, the benefits of an automatic gearbox and power steering, so much so that he decided, upon his return, to purchase a European equivalent. This was how he ordered this superb 300 SE coupe from Royal Elysées in Paris and registered it on August 17, 1964. The car was sold in 1971 to a dentist friend in the region, but, consumed by regret, its first owner bought it back in October 1977 and was never separated from it!
This 300 SE today is in original condition, its bodywork was repainted in its original color. The sills will have to be restored, while the rest of the car is healthy. The beige upholstery is original, and the dashboard features a Becker Grand Prix radio. Having not been used for more than 10 years, this Mercedes will need a complete overhaul and a restart. The natural elegance of the model is underlined by a particularly flattering color combination, and its clear history and its state of preservation are also rare qualities.
